Jane Harvey, Designer

Professional Background
Jane began her career in kitchen design in 1999, after designing her own kitchen.  After the improvement of her own home and kitchen workspace, Jane knew she wanted to assist other people through the process of designing their own kitchens and baths.  Jane feels her business degree, and fashion design and merchandising degree have been put to use on a daily basis as she makes suggestions on color, texture, materials and finishes.  For several years, Jane managed the art supply department at May D & F, which allowed her to hone her skills with color.  Jane’s training also includes extensive training with numerous cabinet manufacturers.  Jane appeared on H.G.T.V. in September of 2008, when she worked successfully on a featured project.  She was filmed explaining how to install a stacked crown molding detail.

Approach to Kitchen & Bath Design
Jane likes to involve her clients in the entire kitchen design process, paying particular attention to all of the little personal touches that make a project unique to her client.  Jane says that she asks a lot of detail questions about how a client works in the kitchen so that she is able to create the kitchen of their dreams.  Jane enjoys the connection with her clients the most, she approaches people they way she would like to be approached.  Jane thinks of all the things her client would want and how their kitchen would best function.  Jane feels that her art and design background makes her especially good with color.  Jane likes to respond in a timely manner, organize a project, and follow through on every detail.  She values the fact that she has numerous repeat customers and builders.

When Not Designing
Jane enjoys working in her garden, growing orchids, quilting, hiking, painting with watercolors, and playing the guitar and piano.  Jane also enjoys spending time with her grand children, going to museums, and going out to eat.
